Courage when facing what I have asked you to do is true courage. So-called courage in the face of a known temptation—so as to enter into it—is not courage but is presumption. (Matthew 4:5-7; 1 Corinthians 6:18-20; 1 Corinthians 10:12-22; 1 Timothy 6:6-13; 2 Timothy 2:19-26) These actions are not undergirded by My Spirit. On the contrary, they are the means that the enemy of your soul draws you aside to be conquered. (James 1:12-15; Proverbs 4:14-17) I have overcome all enemies and have given you the authority to tread on serpents. Yet you must realize that this does not include those things that you know are not expedient for you. I have conquered all, but in these areas you have walked where you have no authority to prevail.
Your flesh often disguises its desires under the banner of faith or even obedience. However, My Spirit within you shows you the difference (Psalms 32:8-9; John 16:12-14). My Word illustrates the difference (Psalms 119:11-12); and your own heart knows the difference. (Hebrews 10:19-23) You must choose your battles according to My will and purpose. Many of the battles you are choosing in which to engage are losing battles in that they have nothing to do with bringing glory to Me by fulfilling your given assignments.
Battling with your past is a losing battle. (Genesis 19:15-17) The only answer for the sorrows and hurt of the past is My blood applied to cover and so redeem it. This will not change the past but will change what these things have caused in your life. (Joel 2:25-27)
Battling with the ungodly is a losing battle. They will never be convinced or are made to feel regret by your efforts towards them. Returning evil for evil only digs the hole deeper into which they have fallen and puts you in danger of sharing their fate. Reason with the ungodly will never work because they do not seek truth but only validation for what they have determined to do and are doing even now. The only thing that will change the ungodly is repentance and only My Spirit can lead them there. “The word of your testimony” can be the catalyst that opens them to hearing the call of My Spirit and is the only thing that protects your mind from falling after the same example of disobedience and unbelief. The word of your testimony is the assertion of your complete reliance on Me by the way in which you conduct your living. (Matthew 5:14-16; Romans 12:17-21; Revelation 12:11-12)
Battling the lusts in your own heart will never bring relief. This is not a good fight. The good fight is having the faith that I Am able to keep you from falling. It is the knowledge that what I have begun, I will bring to completion. Your part is to walk circumspectly and flee from the appearance of evil. You do not flee out of fear for the temptation but out of obedience to what I have told you. (Jude 24-25)
Your battle against adverse circumstances is a losing battle. This only diverts your energy from what you were sent to do and strengthens the very thing that you abhor. The remedy for adverse circumstances is the knowledge that I will never leave you nor forsake you. (Isaiah 43:1-2) You do not have to feel My Presence. You have only to believe that what I have said is true. Keep your eyes on Me in the midst of trouble by remembering this promise to you. (2 Chronicles 20:11-17; 2 Chronicles 20:20-23) Use the power that I give you to keep on the path of victory that I have prepared for you (God’s Will and Purpose).
If you continue to choose the wrong fights you will continue to fail. Flee from the fight that is not of faith and fight to walk in the victory that I have already won for you—that is the greatest victory.
